Welcome to KCompounds.
For those who aren’t familiar with me, I’m Krysia, founder of the K-Hole community and now co-founder of KCompounds.
KCompounds really grew out of K-Hole and years of watching people try to navigate a market that can be incredibly difficult to make sense of.
The same questions came up again and again. Who sells this? What does it cost? Is that price for a vial or a kit? Which warehouse does it come from? Has this batch actually been tested? Has the vendor had failures before? What happened when something went wrong? Is that COA actually connected to the product being sold, or is it simply another test being used as advertising?
And perhaps the most common question of all:
“Who is a trusted or vetted vendor?”
My standard answer has always been: none of them are trusted and none of them are vetted.
That still remains true, but I also know it isn’t a particularly satisfactory answer for someone new to this market who is simply trying to decide where to buy.
So rather than giving vendors a vague “trusted” or “vetted” label, I created a Testing Score based on specific, objective and reproducible criteria.
It rests on lab reports verified on the laboratory’s own page and scored by fixed rules, and how much each report counts depends on when it was filed and by whom, so no supplier can test ten vials and show only the one that passed.
You can see exactly what goes into the score and how it is calculated on the Testing Score methodology page.
No vendor gets a better score because they advertise with us, pay us or supply us with information. Vendor-supplied claims are identified as such, independent evidence is treated separately, and when something is unknown, I would rather show unknown than guess.
I don’t expect KCompounds to tell you who to trust.
I want it to give you enough information to decide for yourself.
Over the years, K-Hole has accumulated an enormous amount of information: independent testing, vendor prices, customer experiences, complaints and resolutions, shipping information, batch failures, COAs and the occasional spectacular disaster.
The problem is that most of it is scattered across groups, spreadsheets, websites and thousands of messages.
KCompounds brings that information together in one place, so you can search for a product, compare vendors, prices and policies, look at testing and history, and make your own decision.
