BiochemAPI Peptides Tests Which Fill Volume Works Best For the New 140mg Tirzepatide

How 1ml, 1.5 ml and 2 ml fills were compared to see which cake holds up best in transit

The first video shows 3ml vials all holding 140mg lyophilised Tirzepatide. The vials are labelled according to fill volume of the lyophilised product 1ml, 1.5 and 2mls. The aim of this experiment is to determine which filling volume is more suitable for long distance transportation, so that when the customer receives the product, the powder cake shape can be maintained in the best looking state.

The vials are then placed into the plastic vial container and into an EPS foam shipping box (Styrofoam box). The box is then subjected to simulated transport stress testing which involves shaking, jolting, dropping and impact handling. They are then removed and the cake is then visually assessed.

The cakes vary in integrity and structure. Some remain intact with a uniform, well-formed appearance, while others show signs of stress, including cracking, partial collapse, and clumping against the vial walls. The more disrupted samples appear fragmented or uneven, indicating reduced structural stability after handling.

These changes are largely cosmetic

These changes are largely cosmetic. In freeze-dried products, cake cracking, clumping, or partial collapse can occur during handling and transport.

Even standard medical vials can show broken or uneven cakes, and in some cases appear less well-formed than those seen in the grey market. Because of this, appearance alone is a poor indicator of quality.

The pictures above are of commercially produced products showing visibly disrupted cakes.

Fragments have broken away from the main structure, with material shifted up the vial and clinging to the walls. Instead of a uniform disc, the cakes appear cracked, collapsed, and uneven, clear signs of mechanical stress during handling and transport.

In the grey market, presentation carries more weight than it should. Some customers prefer a cleaner, more intact cake, which is why efforts are made to optimise appearance at each stage.

But once a product leaves the factory, there are too many variables in transit to guarantee how it will arrive.

In this case Biochemapi recommended the 1 ml volume, which is what the customer chose.

Cake breakage alone isn’t an indicator of product quality
